| Summary |
|---|
A tall cylindrical amphora with angular shoulders, long straight

Bibliography
A series of papers in the proceedings of the SFECAG congres at
Istres discuss the dating and distribution of Dressel 1
amphoras in Gaul
(Maza 1998; Desbat 1998; Poux and Selles 1998).
Desbat makes the suggestion, based largely on the evidence
from Lyon, that the importation of Italian Dressel 1 amphoras
into Gaul is declining rapidly by c. 40 BC. The implications
of this for the dating of the Dressel 1s in Britain have yet
to be analysed.
Comas Solà (1998)
describes a Catalan variant of the Dressel 1, found
occasionally in Gaul.
